Rousey makes quick work of Correia

Ronda Rousey is still the baddest woman on the planet.

Ronda Rousey defended her bantamweight title by knocking out Bethe Correia after just 34 seconds at UFC 190 in Rio de Janeiro on Saturday night.

Correia came out, threw some wild punches and Rousey turned it around on her nearly immediately. That alone was enough to infuriate the temperamental Rousey.

Brazilian Correia made things personal too, bringing up the suicide of Rousey’s father and taunting the champ after defeating two of her closes pals – Shayna Baszler and Jessamyn Duke – en route to earning her title shot. “Please, don’t kill yourself, don’t commit suicide, because I will give you the rematch”. The thinking was, however, that this would put her within the perilous Rousey wheelhouse, and one of her arms would pay the price. The time she had spent fighting over the last 3 contests totaled 64 seconds. I got up. She connected a good punch. The fact that I was doing absolutely nothing with my life was apparent to everyone. “It was great”.

Not long after WWE confirmed Piper’s death Friday, Rousey posted a photo of him on her Instagram account and said “this one’s for you Roddy…”

“I hope he and my dad had a good time watching this today”, said Rousey.

Pehaps a better opponent might be Invicta FC featherweight champion Cris “Cyborg” Justino, whose current contract with the all-female fight promotion would allow her to appear in the UFC against Rousey.

On Saturday, she beat Correia at her own game.

She began training in MMA, then fighting, working her way through the sport’s lower-paid, borderline-anonymous ranks, with no assurance the UFC would ever open its octagon to her. Rousey, however, was determined to give the outfit no choice. Correia has defeated Jessamyn Duke and Shayna Baszler and said: “I already proved to the world that the Four Horsewomen are a big joke”. They’re what keep her rocketing along this wild path. As soon as the hapless challenger regained her feet, back against the cage, the barrage of Rousey lefts and rights lit her up until a straight right hand connected on the temple and sent Correia right back to the mat.

Another new reason to love Rousey, as if we needed another, are the remarks she made in this recent video when reacting to body shamers.

“Guys, I know you wanted him to win, but I couldn’t let that happen”, said Struve, who won on 30-27 across-the-board scores. This time she went there face first.

It’s gotten to the point that people want to see Rousey fight simply for the adrenaline rush. “That is always worth the money”. Themed by Rhonda Rosie vs. Beth Korea participated under their by Mauricio Rua vs. Antonio Rogerio Nogueira. The judges’ scores were 29-28 across the board.
