Rovio releases Angry Birds sequel for iOS and Android
Raging Birds 2 costs nothing to download, but of course, that’s how they get you.

Almost half (46%) of Rovio $190 million in 2014 revenues came from non-game sources like merchandise, brand licensing, clothes and ad revenue from its cartoon series on YouTube. Yeah. But we’ll talk about that part later.
Rovio has finally launched the official sequel to raging Birds.
However, mad Birds hasn’t been as successful on Android.
The game is just as addictive as ever. Today, however, the familiar sound of birds, pig grunts, and explosions, can again be heard throughout our office.
While retaining the slingshot gameplay, the visuals and gameplay of mad Birds 2 have been completely overhauled.
Rovio has released a dozen raging Birds games, including the original in 2009. We role-played in mad Birds Epic, and we transformed in raging Birds Transformers. Not just raging but suicidal. The usual birds are back-ringleader Red; Chuck, the wood-chopping bird; and The Blues singing trio-with at least one new addition.
Quite a bit, actually.
When reading our headline, you might say, “What?” Because you were wondering how you were going to use all that free time of yours. But that’s far from all.
Meanwhile, leaderboards on each stage are accessible with a Facebook log-in, and you can now adorn your profile with unique avatars to stand out from the crowd. It’s a nice animated effect that makes the act of pulling back on the sling in order to crush a green pig with your fired up bird very satisfying. Boss fights, are a good example.
The original roster of birds all make a comeback, and are now joined by Silver, a bird that swoops in a circle before landing from above, smashing into hard-to-reach places.
The shortcomings of the free-to-play design only become clear later on in the game, once you reach the tougher stages.

Mad Birds 2 has many different types of stages (240, in fact). You collect gems, you earn cards, and you’re allowed to purchase bonuses. The Golden Duck spell, which is probably our favorite, sends down an Armageddon-like shower, inflicting massive damage. The spells are available to be wielded against the infamous pigs.
