Cain left Tuesday’s game with a strained hamstring, FOX Sports Kansas City’s Joel Goldberg reports. Cain sustained a hamstring injury in last night’s contest while attempting to beat out an infield single. The Royals will wait for clarity before offering a possible prognosis.
The 27-year-old Eibner made his major league debut this season for the Royals after being drafted by the team in the second round of the 2010 amateur draft. Yet another injury for the defending World Series champions. Alex Gordon and Mike Moustakas were injured in a collision chasing down a foul ball on May 22.
Long winning streaks, long losing streaks and a boatload of injuries.
The Royals will turn to Jarrod Dyson in center field with Cain, who had been hitting.290 with a.752 OPS, on the mend.
