Royals Rally To Force Game 5 Against Astros
They needed a lot of hits – a maybe a little help, too.

Before the eighth inning Monday afternoon, the series momentum appeared to be on Houston’s side.
Once the game began, all around the stands you could see blue, the Royals’ color. Thats the mentality for this whole entire team. “That’s what a championship ballclub does”.
A line drive single to right field produced another run and made it 6-4. The Royals, down 6-2, scored five in the top of the eighth to take a 7-6 lead, then eventually won 9-6.
“I missed it. That’s what happened”, Correa said. “I wish I was ideal”.
Players were flanked by their families, and boarded the bus back to Kauffman Stadium. “But it’s a big-boy sport”.
With the Houston Astros on the verge of advancing in the baseball playoffs on Monday, a tweet was sent out in the name of Texas Governor Greg Abbott congratulating the team on its victory.
Astros fans certainly have reason to be salty about the governor’s tweet. “Got back to the dugout and everybody’s obviously excited to put us up by five“, Tulowitzki said.
“The way that Houston’s playing right now, these guys are playing lights-out ball”, Hosmer said. “I’m sure it was tougher than it looked”. If Correa develops into the star everyone expects, this will be one of the games they talk about.
Kansas City was 0-3 playing in Houston’s Minute Main Park headed into Game 3 on Sunday and that streak didn’t come to an end.
Hosmer had an RBI single in the eighth and then absolutely crushed a two-run home run in the ninth.
The Royals started out with a 4th inning home run by Lorenzo Cain and finished the game with another homer, this time by Alex Gordon. “And we’re going to hop on a plane, go work out tomorrow, and we’re going to show up ready to play in Game 5”, Hinch said. “I mean really did”.
The Astros had six consecutive losing seasons, including three last-place finishes in a row, before unexpectedly earning a wild-card spot this year. With wife Barbara by his side, he bounced a short throw from about five feet in front of the plate to Houston’s Jed Lowrie, who was set up to catch.
Troy Tulowitzki got a home run in and also one of his walks results in another run with the bases loaded. What we have to do tomorrow is go out there and play to our strengths, pitch to our strengths.
Toronto starting pitcher R.A. Dickey, making his first post-season appearance at the age of 40, allowed just one run. Salvador Perez hit a two-run homer in the second to give the Royals an early lead.

Hosmer fouled off two pitches and held up on two outside the strike zone. The Cowboys managed just 59 total yards by halftime and settled for a pair of Dan Bailey field goals in dropping their third straight since Tony Romo broke his left collarbone.
