Rubio and Cruz go hard after Trump

Knowing that they need to change the campaign trail narrative quickly or risk Trump coasting to the Republican nomination, the two freshman United States senators launched broadsides against the brash billionaire, who lashed out at his challengers in what quickly devolved into a shouting match. And in 2013, when I was fighting against the “gang of eight” amnesty bill, where was Donald? “He was firing Dennis Rodman on ‘Celebrity Apprentice, ‘” Cruz said.

“While I was working on (immigration reform), Cruz said, “Donald, you were firing Dennis Rodman on ‘Celebrity Apprentice'”. “You’re the only person on this stage who has hired people illegally”.

Ohio Governor John Kasich, billing himself as a moderate, compassionate alternative to his more conservative colleagues, has been pressured to drop out by some Republicans so a non-Donald Trump frontrunner can emerge.

Afterward, Trump called it “really one of my best debates – considering that I was being hit from all sides”.

The attack was led by Marco Rubio who criticised his lack of concrete policies, his wealth and his four past bankruptcies. Kasich prodded the moderators to take control of the debate and end the bickering.

The poll also shows Trump beats both Rubio and Cruz in a one-on-one matchup in SEC primary states, a name given to the area based on sports participation in the Southeastern Conference.

Mr Cruz and Mr Trump also sparred over the mogul’s previous comments about universal healthcare.

Trump was hardly silent, responding to both Rubio and Cruz: “This guy’s a choke artist and this guy’s a liar….”

Rubio was the principal aggressor, spitting out a steady stream of criticism on everything from Trump’s position on immigration to his privileged background, his speaking style and more. On Super Tuesday, Trump wins by bigger margins than expected everywhere, and takes a giant step closer toward the Republican nomination.

The confrontation in Houston, Texas, marked a rare night where bombastic Mr Trump found himself on the defensive.

On the debate stage, Trump claimed that he was now being audited and that he would not release the returns until that process was over.

“Donald Trump is a mirror of the anger and frustration Americans have”, Abbott said.

Will the attacks start to soften Trump and peel away the 35 to 40 percent of Republican voters who support him?

“You are all talk and no action”.

“Sen. Cruz is a wily and brilliant debater”, Perry said. “Other than that I rest my case”. Corrupt politicians, a broken immigration system, and inept policies have created flawless conditions for someone who bears no blame for the way things are to come in from the outside and fix things.

As Trump pointed out-in an awkward exchange that earned the businessman howls of approval from the crowd-Cruz appears to losing his grip even in his home state of Texas.
