Rubio Challenges His Challenger to Six Debates

– Diane Martin-Johnson, 66, after voting for Marco Rubio, who won his Republican primary race in Florida to run for U.S. Senate in November. In reality, both candidates saw the races as over long before then, as Murphy and Rubio have focused on each other ever since Rubio re-entered the race for his seat on June 22 after previously pledging not to run for a second term.

With 85 percent of precincts reporting, Rubio had 71.9 percent of the vote to Beruff’s 18.6.

Rubio beat millionaire developer Carlos Beruff, the only major GOP candidate to stay in the race after Rubio made a decision to run for re-election two days before the deadline to make the ballot.

His main opponent, establishment-favored Patrick Murphy, a Congressman from Jupiter, handily won his primary Tuesday, with Grayson trailing him by more than 40 points; Murphy won 58.84 percent to Grayson’s 17.75. The rest of the votes were divided among two other candidates. “Senator Rubio put his personal ambition ahead of Florida’s middle class, earning the worst vote attendance record for a Florida Senator in almost 50 years”.

“In fact, prior to Marco Rubio going back on his word, our campaign had moved into first place in the Republican primary”, he said.

Rubio will square off against Rep. Patrick Murphy in his re-election bid.

“No one can make that commitment because you don’t know what the future’s going to hold in your life”, he told CNN Tuesday.

“I cried three days after the presidential campaign”, said Wallace.

Murphy’s candidacy will have big support from pro-choice groups; Rubio has been vocally anti-choice during his tenure as a U.S. Senator. Marco Rubio’s presidential aspirations and insistence that he was done with the Senate didn’t hurt him with GOP voters.

Democrats hope to gain seats in Florida’s heavily Republican House delegation after court-mandated redistricting chipped away the advantages of some incumbents. “After spending the summer running from scandal and avoiding voters, Murphy has given Floridians little reason to believe he’ll work on their behalf in Washington”.

Beruff, a real estate developer who self-funded the campaign in a similar vein to Trump, had attacked Rubio for missing votes during his presidential campaign, not being anti-immigration enough and failing to wholeheartedly support Trump as the party’s eventual nominee. Marco Rubio and Rep.

But that was not the case, at least in closely watched nominating races in Florida. Murphy was also dogged by questions about whether he had exaggerated aspects of his biography.

Grayson denied the abuse allegations. But Murphy appeared to stop short of agreeing to six debates, and he added his own challenge to the mix.

McCain, the 2008 GOP presidential nominee and Armed Services Committee chairman, heads to the general election in a bid for a seventh term in the Senate.
