Rubio, Cruz jostle to claim ‘alternative-to-Trump’ vote
“We’re asking that you reach at least 25 new voters a day – every day – until the election in one of 2 very easy ways: Walking or Talking”.

Donald Trump cruised to victory in the South Carolina Republican primary and Florida Sen.
By winning both SC and New Hampshire and holding leads in 13 states that hold Republican contests on March 1, Trump was arguably on track to win the nomination, an outcome that seemed astounding to contemplate when he entered the race last summer. “If I win NY, the election’s over”, he said. Clinton said on CNN’s “State of the Union”.
Marco Rubio. Rubio, in many ways, played the role of “comeback kid” on Saturday, finishing second to Trump, after having notched a strong third-place showing in the Iowa caucuses, only to sag to fifth place in New Hampshire.
Clinton’s campaign has argued she would assert control of the Democratic race once it moved to more diverse states with black and Hispanic populations who have traditionally backed Clinton and have been slow to warm to Sanders.
Marco Rubio emerged from a razor-thin second-place finish in South Carolina’s presidential primary on Sunday with the Republican field narrowed and his target clear: Donald Trump.
The Palmetto State also claimed another casualty in the race: After a distant fourth place finish, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush suspended his campaign.
“You just can’t tell people you’re going to make America great again; you have to tell people how you’re going to do it”, Rubio said on CBS.
Rubio noted that Haley is still busy being governor of the state and has young children, but “whoever the nominee is – and I think it is going to be me – she is someone that people are going to be paying attention to”. “Obviously, I wish we could have done a little bit better”. “We’re not going to beat Hillary Clinton or Bernie Sanders if we’re still divided in September and October”, Rubio says.
But in the end, Trump triumphed with religious voters, according to exit polls.
Trump’s response: “I think the lawyers have to determine that that – and not – it was a retweet, not so much with Marco”. Cruz has campaign appearances in Nevada.
WASHINGTON – Only five Republicans were left in the race for the White House Sunday, and frontrunner Donald Trump hammered home the idea that he is the only one who could defeat Democrat Hillary Clinton in November.
Lynn Derrick, a regional vice president for Oracle Corporation and a first-time primary voter, said he had cast his ballot for Trump.
On Saturday, Trump handily won in SC.
Whoever draws votes from whom, the remaining Republican face figures to be as intense as the contest in SC.
But in other areas Trump didn’t fare so well. But some of Trump’s opponents acknowledge he could build an insurmountable lead by mid-March if current trends continue. The victory came despite poll numbers that showed U.S. Sen.
Trump appeared a man in his element in command of a bellicose race he has helped to create and dominate.
Speaking to backers in South Carolina, Trump signaled the coming fury by discussing the difficulties of running for president.

Trump said he did not view the SC results as a referendum on the Bush legacy, saying it just wasn’t Jeb Bush’s time to be president.
