Rubio drops out of presidential race after losing in home state
Hillary Clinton’s primary victories have dealt a severe blow to Bernie Sanders’ bid to slow her march toward the Democratic presidential nomination.

Sen. Marco Rubio, who had been third in the delegate count, announced Tuesday he was suspending his campaign after a disappointing loss to Mr. Trump in Florida. Still bullish on his chances in the Sunshine State, Rubio said then that he believed, “with all of my heart”, that the victor of the Florida primary would go on to be the Republican presidential nominee. “Everybody’s writing about it, all over Europe, all over the world they’re talking about it. Millions of people are coming in to vote”, Trump told supporters after winning Florida. A total of 358 delegates are at stake on Do-or-Die Tuesday.
Cruz isn’t expected to win any states, though he could pull off an upset in North Carolina or possibly in his campaign manager’s home state of Missouri, as polls have shown single-digit races in both places.
And Kasich delegate Mike Gonidakis, says he’s ready for a contested convention – saying that wrangling up delegate support inside Cleveland’s Quicken Loans Arena will be a transparent process.
Here are the biggest things to watch for on Tuesday night in Florida, Illinois, Missouri, North Carolina and Ohio.
Sanders aimed for victory in Missouri and was within striking distance in IL and OH, two states where he hoped his trade-focused message would resonate. That figure doesn’t take into account her large lead among super delegates, the elected officials and party leaders who aren’t tied to the candidate who wins their state.
After losing all of Florida’s 99 delegates in Tuesday night’s winner-take-all primary, Rubio bowed out of the presidential race. But states like Virginia and Nevada require delegates to vote for their pledged candidate in the first round of convention voting – no matter what. After that, there are no big-state contests again on the Republican side until Wisconsin on April 5.
Kasich handedly beat Trump with 47 to 36 percent.
Clinton won on the Democratic side with 65 percent of the vote.
“It looks to me like the separation is pretty clear”, Hancock said.
He told supporters he is the only candidate who shares their values and the only candidate who can defeat Donald Trump.

“I think we will win before getting to the convention”, Trump replied.
