Rubio emerges as strong contender; 3 Republicans drop prez bid
Since Iowa, no on is talking about Donald Trump.

The voicemail posted by Carson’s campaign featured a more direct implication about Carson’s status in the race, announcing: “Hello, this is the Cruz campaign with breaking news: Dr. Ben Carson will be suspending his campaign following tonight’s caucuses”.
Two days after finishing second in Iowa, Donald Trump is now alleging that victor Ted Cruz cheated and is threatening to sue over the results.
The accusations, interpreted by critics as an attempt to hog the media spotlight, come in stark contrast to his gracious concession speech in Iowa on Monday, saying he was “honoured” to finish second.
If Rubio tops Cruz in New Hampshire’s primary on Tuesday and finishes ahead of candidates such as former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, he will have more evidence to support a point he’s been hammering for weeks: He is the candidate to unite the party.
One such message said Carson was ready to suspend his campaign and directed Cruz’s ground team in Iowa to “inform any Carson caucus goers of this news and urge them to caucus for Ted instead”.
Between Ted Cruz’s win in the Iowa Caucus on Monday evening and Thursday morning, the firebrand Texas senator’s campaign raked in $3 million in campaign contributions.
Cruz spokesman Rick Tyler told CNN on Wednesday that Cruz apologized personally to Carson for the mistake.
Cruz’s campaign told its precinct captains to inform voters about that, suggesting Carson would no longer be in the race soon. He’ll be flanked by Mr. Cruz and Mr. Rubio. O’Malley had zero and has officially suspended his campaign.
All four campaigns are banking on elected officials and high-powered donors to rally around whichever campaign emerges on top in New Hampshire.
Carson said “as a Christian”, he has accepted Cruz’s apology but insisted that the people in Cruz’s camp responsible for the disinformation should be fired.
During primetime of the Iowa Caucus, Cruz put out a release that @RealBenCarson was quitting the race, and to caucus (or vote) for Cruz. I think you’re brilliant man, a man of God.
And finally, Cruz strongly told thousands of caucusgoers (voters) that Trump was strongly in favor of ObamaCare and “choice” – a total lie!

NY political science professor Jeanne Zaino said Mr Trump’s outburst was created to counter the narrative that he lost in Iowa. Wayne Hogan, the owner of a North Little Rock office furniture store who was wearing a Revolution-era jacket and hat along with a Trump shirt, said he shared the billionaire’s concerns about the caucuses. “I think there’ll be repercussions to that”.
