While CBS and NBC only footnoted Haley’s support of Rubio, ABC’s World News Tonight and Republican campaign correspondent Tom Llamas reserved two minutes and one second for the big breaking story (in a segment that totaled four minutes and four seconds).
Marco Rubio argued Friday he is best positioned to unite feuding Republicans and deny Democrats a third straight term in the White House, as he kicked off a fly-around tour of the state on the last full day of campaigning before the SC primary.
“When it was time to look at this presidential race, I thought from a different perspective”, Haley said, noting the challenges the state has faced in the previous year.
Haley’s endorsement, first reported by the Charleston Post and Courier, was heavily courted ahead of Saturday’s GOP primary in the Palmetto State.
“I wanted somebody that had conviction to do the right thing, but I wanted somebody humble enough that remembers that you work for all the people”, she said Wednesday in Chapin, South Carolina.
Marco Rubio is the best candidate to “keep America safe”.
Rubio’s fifth-place showing in New Hampshire, after a disastrous debate performance, puts the Cuban-American in a most pivotal position in SC. Haley’s endorsement – plus the backing of two other prominent South Carolina Republicans, Sen.
Haley said, “Nigel, you know my passion – you know my passion for where I want this country to go; you know my passion for bringing jobs that were made in-America”. The advertisement comes just one day after the popular South Carolina Republican endorsed Rubio.
Before Wednesday, Haley’s endorsement was in high demand.
Apparently, Governor Haley has made her final decision and has shared with the world that she is ready to make her endorsement, reports Western Journalism. In second place is Ted Cruz with 22 percent and Rubio, followed by Rubio with 14 percent, Bush with 10 percent, Carson at 6 percent and Kasich at 4 percent.
Haley is just the latest South Carolina Republican whose support Rubio has picked up.
Rubio was joined at the rally by U.S. Sen.

“I would love her endorsement”, Rubio said during a lunch with reporters on Tuesday.
But the Rubio campaign sees the impact of Haley’s endorsement as resonating far beyond SC.

Friends, advisers and backers of Rubio says if he should finish behind Bush, it would spell real trouble for the junior senator, according to the Times.
