Rubio needs strong New Hampshire showing to rebut debate critics
Rubio visited precincts Tuesday and tamped down expectations and the supposed “3-2-1” strategy – reflecting finishes in Iowa, N.H. and S.C. “That was never our strategy”, Rubio said in Windham. “I did not do well on Saturday night”.

Chris Christie, who once looked like a front-runner for the Republican presidential nomination but was hampered from the start of his campaign by a traffic scandal and a sluggish economy at home, will drop out of the race Wednesday. John Kasich, who pulled out second in New Hampshire, is counting on it. “We have a lot of people who have been promising money if we perform”, said Kasich senior adviser Tom Rath. The liberal super PAC American Bridge 21st Century has been sending the demonstrators to Rubio’s events since Sunday, although one of the costumed hecklers on Tuesday said he was not part of any group. His poll numbers had risen following his third-place finish in the Iowa caucus behind Cruz and Trump.
Mr. Christie has spent $365,000 on attacks again Mr. Kasich and Mr. Rubio.
“We need an alternative to Donald Trump or we’re going to lose the election”. “And South Carolina, we are on the way”, Rubio declared as he walked off the stage with his family. “We’re going on to SC”. Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush and Ohio Gov. John Kasich both outperformed Christie.
“Not all the days are going to be great days, we’re not always going to get things the way we want”, Rubio said.
The loss comes less than a week after Rubio’s debate debacle, where the Florida senator repeated the line Obama “knows exactly what he’s doing” four times, leading many on social media to devise the nickname “Rubio bot”. So did activists dressed in robot costumes to mock Rubio’s debate performance.
When asked about Ted Cruz’s campaign manager coming to Jacksonville to fundraise, Wiles was surprised, saying “I didn’t know that and I don’t know him”.
While critics also argue that New Hampshire is too small and too white to play such a major role in picking presidents, its defenders say the country is well-served because the primary requires close contact with voters, not just name-recognition or advertising cash. “I hope that Carly Fiorina and Chris Christie drop out”.

Mr. Bush’s older brother, President George W. Bush, is expected to campaign with him in SC, and Mr. Graham said the dynastic family name – with which Mr. Bush has struggled – will help him in the state.
