Meanwhile, the Mackinac Island Police Department is looking into the incident as well and Yob plans to press charges.
Yob said the incident, which occurred at the city of Mackinac Island, was captured “on video, from multiple angles”. “This will play out in the national media in the next few hours”, he rightfully predicted on Facebook.
A call to Beeson went to voicemail and wasn’t immediately returned.
“If anything, it was a shove”, Mackinac Island police Chief Brett Riccinto told Britain’s The Guardian.
Paul is scheduled to speak at the Mackinac Republican Leadership Conference on Saturday evening.
John Yob, the chief strategist of Paul’s 2016 campaign in Michigan, made the allegations on Facebook and Twitter, identifying the staffer as Rich Beeson, Rubio’s deputy campaign manager. It’s the kind of place one would assume solves problems with a well-placed, “I said good day, sir”. But when they asked Republicans who they thought lost the debate, the big loser was Rand Paul, getting a thumbs down by 32 percent of those polled.
