Rubio sticking with Trump despite misgivings over fight with Khans
The candidacy of Donald Trump to become President of the United States has become overshadowed by a row over a speech given by the father of a dead U.S. Muslim soldier. “I’ve created thousands and thousands of jobs, tens of thousands of jobs, built great structures”, he said, while also suggesting Ghazala Khan might not have been allowed to speak while she was on stage at the DNC.

In a written statement, Trump’s campaign has called Khan’s son, Capt. Humayun Khan, a hero, but neither Trump nor his presidential campaign have apologized for his criticism of the family.
Khizr Khan: “Donald Trump, you’re asking Americans to trust you with their future”.
The candidate made matters worse for himself when, despite growing backlash over the weekend for his comments, he continued the conversation on Monday morning via Twitter.
In one of several tweets he has fired off in recent days over the controversy, Trump wrote Sunday: “I was viciously attacked by Mr. Khan at the Democratic Convention”. Kelly Ayotte of New Hampshire, who is facing a hard re-election this fall, said she was “appalled” by Trump’s words. “If I was president back then, there would have been no war for Iraq, I can tell you that, because I think it’s ridiculous, the whole thing”.
John McCain. Said McCain: “While our party has bestowed upon (Trump) the nomination, it is not accompanied by unfettered license to defame those who are the best among us”.
Others supported the Khans without taking jabs at Trump, like House Speaker Paul D. Ryan (R-Wis.) and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.). Davey says Trump’s comments are uncalled for from a person who could be the country’s next commander-in-chief. Blitzer asked. “It’s up to Donald Trump”. He added, “Whatever sacrifices I think I’ve made…they’re crumbs on the floor compared to these families”.
Later in the broadcast, we’ll bring you the comments of both Khizr and Ghazala Khan, a rare glimpse of them as they visit their son’s grave in Arlington National Cemetery.
“I’m exercising my rights for freedom of speech”, Khan said.

The Veterans of Foreign Wars, the country’s oldest and largest veteran’s association, said in a statement Trump has a history of lashing out at people but attacking the families of fallen soldiers was “out of bounds”.
