Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump on Wednesday said Texas Sen.
Trump has been leading the Republican polls in New Hampshire, which has historically favoured more moderate candidates than Iowa. Cruz’s team hit back by telling Trump to seek help for addiction to the social media site.
The New Hampshire primary will take place on Tuesday. Almost two-thirds of likely Democratic voters say they have definitely decided whom to support, so the two remaining Democratic candidates are battling over a small share of the likely electorate.
Trump also made mention of a deceptive mailer distributed by the Cruz campaign created to shame Iowa voters into caucusing.
Republican presidential candidate Chris Christie weighed in on Donald Trump’s claim that Ted Cruz stole the Iowa caucuses Thursday. In that poll, Rubio only had 13 percent.
Carson told Fox News on Wednesday that while he accepts Cruz’s apology, “the question is what’s being done about it”.
Rubio finished behind Cruz, the heavy favorite among Iowa’s disproportionately influential conservatives, and less than a percentage point behind the billionaire Trump in the country’s leadoff contest. Rubio comes in at 16 percent and Kasich finishes with 14 percent.
Cruz, who previously held 12 percent of likely votes, has reached 15 percent of potential votes from likely Republican voters, according to the poll.
Cruz repeatedly raised the prospect that Trump could decide to skip the next GOP debates in SC and in New Hampshire because he found them “stupid”, a term the real-estate magnate once memorably used to describe Iowans attracted to Carson’s campaign.
After Rubio’s strong finish in Iowa, the Florida Republican earned a six-point boost in the survey, coming in second with 17 percent support.
Trump, whose campaign operation has been criticized for failing to turn out voters in Iowa, added that he thinks people will come out to vote for him in New Hampshire.
