Rubio, Trump Trade Insults In North Texas

On Monday, his campaign spokesman told NJ.com that the now-suspended presidential campaign had sold its email list of supporters and donors to none other than former chief Republican rival, Florida senator Marco Rubio.

“I will lend my support between now and November every way that I can for Donald to make the campaign an even better campaign than it’s already been”, said Gov. Christie on Friday.

Ten debates into the Republican presidential primary, anybody who thinks they can predict the effect a single night’s back-and-forth will have on the individual candidates’ standing in the polls is either delusional or hasn’t been paying attention. Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz.

Christie, the blunt-talking governor of New Jersey, dropped out of the presidential race two weeks ago, after a disappointing sixth-place finish in the first-in-the-nation New Hampshire primary. And a new advertising campaign from Rubio allies attacked Trump’s business background and limited knowledge on foreign policy. “I am really proud to receive the support of the Governor and his family”, Trump said.

Trump’s rivals concede it might take an extraordinary “brokered” national Republican convention in July to stop him. And it’s Rubio who came out of the debate with a news cycle seemingly all to himself, which was amplified after he joked publicly that Trump had wet his trousers and mocked him for applying makeup during a commercial break and misspelling tweets.

And, oddly, virtually all of the attacks on Trump rolled out last night have been available to his opponents since the day he got into the race. “Our focus is real simple, uniting conservatives in the Super Tuesday states, and I don’t think this endorsement has any significant impact on that”. I originally said I’d like it to be a governor, but unfortunately, the American people are not going for a governor this year. “Look, I watched a part of his little act and he’s a desperate guy”.

Acknowledging “a sense of urgency”, Rubio continued where he left off Thursday night as he campaigned in Oklahoma.

Later in the afternoon, Trump himself called in to Carr’s show. Both Trump and Rubio are signaling they’re unwilling to cede Texas, the crown jewel of Tuesday’s voting, to Cruz, the home-state senator.
