Addressing his supporters, Mr Trump said he would be celebrating tonight.

“It’s going to be an fantastic two months”, he said after winning the Nevada contest on Tuesday.

Donald Trump easily won the Nevada Republican caucus Tuesday night, taking one more giant step toward becoming the party’s presidential nominee. Marco Rubio was a distant second with 23.9%, followed by Ted Cruz in third with 21.4%.

They’ll face Trump in their next debate tomorrow night in Texas…before voters pick their choice for commander in chief.

He also noted how he is managing to clinch a wide demographic of voters: ‘Evangelicals, the young, the old, the highly educated, the poorly educated’.

The nomination race in both political parties has produced candidates who reflect a deepening anger among American voters with the nation’s political establishment. Marco Rubio (R-FL) argued Wednesday that candidates don’t win presidential primaries simply by winning individual states. “They keep forgetting that when people drop out, we’re going to get a lot of votes”.

This is Ted Cruz’s third straight third place finish.

“I love the poorly-educated”, Trump declared in his victory speech. Trump won 14 delegates in Nevada, Rubio won seven and Cruz won six.

The website FiveThirtyEight is predicting that Democrat Hillary Clinton and Republican Donald Trump will take the cake in next week’s Georgia primaries.

“One week from today will be the most important night of this campaign”, he said.

Mr Trump has said he is confident heading into Super Tuesday.

The result comes after an unexpectedly high turn out caused voting chaos across the state, as reports came in of ballot shortages and identifications going unchecked.

“If you want to see America standing unapologetically next to the nation of Israel, ask yourself who has led the fight to stand unshakably next to the nation of Israel”, said Cruz, who also said he would “rip to shreds” last year’s Iran nuclear deal.

Unlike primaries, caucuses allow participants to openly engage with one another and hear arguments from candidates’ supporters or surrogates, in meetings at schools, community centers and churches. It takes 1,237 delegates to win the Republican nomination for president.
