Rubio wins convincingly in Puerto Rico
An interesting note in Puerto Rico’s vote is the territory’s inclusion of inmates in the election process.

Meanwhile, Mitt Romney and other Republican establishment figures pressed ahead Sunday with their campaign to block Trump from capturing the party’s presidential nomination, casting him as a shady businessman who rips people off with questionable enterprises such as the defunct Trump University.
CNN reports Rubio is close to the 50 percent threshold that would allow him to sweep all 23 delegates – the same number as were available in New Hampshire – that are at stake in the contest. “I think it’s probably time”. He’s under pressure from opponents to drop out of the White House race if he fails to win the Florida primary on March. 15. “That’s why I’m here tonight in Puerto Rico, that’s why we’re going to continue to campaign in Florida, but we’re also going to go to other states”. The win would be welcomed by Rubio who trails behind Donald Trump and Texas Sen. If not, they will be split proportionally.
Yep, that’s right. Last night, Marco Rubio won Puerto Rico’s GOP primary in a landslide. Do you support Cruz, Kasich, Rubio, or Trump?
Candidates trailing in the Republican and Democratic presidential races scored victories Sunday, keeping their hopes alive in their respective nomination battles within the two major USA parties.
“Today voters in Puerto Rico sent a clear message that this is a three-man race”, Fortuño told BuzzFeed News.
Rubio (left) has been trailing Donald Trump in the Republican primaries.
He says he’s “not going to do anything to prevent someone from getting 1237” but he’s “also not going to do things that makes sure somebody gets 1237”.
Democratic dark horse Sanders scored victories Saturday in the Midwestern states of Kansas and Nebraska, while Clinton won easily in Louisiana.
Trump may be calling for a one-on-one race with Ted Cruz but I imagine he would like to wait a while so he can pile up some of these winner-take-all delegates in Ohio, Florida, Illinois, and Missouri on March 15.
“It’s good but clearly he needs to start winning more states”, he said.
Asked about his stance at the Republican debate on Thursday night, March 3, Rubio said bankruptcy wouldn’t fix the underlying issues driving Puerto Rico’s debt problems, and that “it’s too expensive to do business there, the tax rate is too high, the government regulations are too extensive”.

Puerto Rico is struggling to fend off a financial crisis, and Rubio’s stance that the US territory should not be extended bankruptcy protections has rankled some on the island.
