Rudolph, Childs lead Oklahoma State to win over Pittsburgh
The Oklahoma State Cowboys made a mockery of the Pitt Panthers defense in a wild 45-38 shootout that spanned almost six hours due to a lightning delay.

With all of the talking points to come from Oklahoma State’s weather-delayed victory over Pitt, there’s one thing that is pretty obvious.
In the first play of the game, Oklahoma State quarterback Mason Rudolph threw a 91-yard touchdown and didn’t let up after that.
Despite rallying back from a 31-17 deficit, Pitt lost to Oklahoma State, 45-38, for its first loss of the 2016 season. “We hope as we go through the season we get better and better”. When the delay happened, I was okay with it, because I felt like we needed it to make some corrections. “We mulled over a few things, but obviously, we came to a conclusion that was our best play to call”.
One play later, Childs broke the plane and scored his fourth touchdown of the game, increasing his career total to 10 touchdowns.
Sleep was secondary for the Cowboys’ offensive coordinator prior to Pittsburgh on Saturday at Boone Pickens Stadium. “He knows there’s still room to improve, so he’s never going to think he’s arrived, there’s always a way to get better”. The play set up a short run by Rennie Childs – his fourth score of the game – for the winning points, as OSU outlasted the Panthers, 45-38. I think this one is on him and the coaching staff.
One week after an emotional and controversial loss to Central Michigan and enduring a almost two-hour lightning delay that left Boone Pickens Stadium half-empty, the Cowboys scored the game-winner on a 1-yard run by tailback Rennie Childs with 1:28 remaining.
Playing without the team’s only experienced wide receiver, quarterback Nathan Peterman threw for 237 yards and completed less than 50 percent of his passes.
Rudolph and Washington each set school records for a half – Rudolph with 372 passing yards, Washington with 231 receiving yards. For the season, he has thrown for 1,014 yards with a 6/1 TD/INT ratio. Sep.
Pat Narduzzi held his weekly press conference Monday afternoon at Pitt’s South Side practice facility.
The Panthers ran for 290 yards, getting 111 yards and one touchdown from running back James Conner and 95 yards and two scores from Quadree Henderson on wide receiver sweeps.
Rudolph picked on Pitt corner Avonte Maddox all game long. “There was adversity and our kids fought all the way to the end, and that’s all, as a coach, you can ask for”.
“I think it’s ideal, honestly”, Washington said. “It definitely got my blood flowing, especially coming back to the sideline and just rallying with my teammates”. They need four yards here and they would be in prime position to continue a game winning drive. Seales took the catch-and-run 86 yards to the Pitt 1-yard line. Notre Dame dropped a game at home to Michigan State, too, showing that maybe Texas’ win over the Golden Domers wasn’t much to write home about.
Pittsburgh: The Panthers are on the road again as they open ACC play against North Carolina.
FORT WORTH, Texas – Kyle Hicks ran for 117 yards with a long touchdown and also scored on a 25-yard catch as TCU beat Iowa State 41-20 on Saturday in the first game this season that counts in the Big 12 standings.
The two plays of more than 85 yards bookended a game that lasted almost six hours including the delay, which Gundy said helped OSU make needed adjustments.

Washington’s big game earned him both Walter Camp National Offensive Player of the Week and Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week honors. “That’s what I’m trying to work toward and that’s what this team wants”.
