Top actress Anushka Shetty had played Rudramma Devi in what is claimed to be India’s first historical stereoscopic 3D film. The epic drama has a long line up of actors such as Allu Arjun, Rana Daggubati, Krishnam Raju, Suman, Prakash Raj, Adithya Menon, Vikramjeet Virk, Nithya Menon, Aditi Chengappa, Catherine Tresa, Hamsa Nandini, Ajay, Baba Sehgal, Tanikella Bharani, Madhumitha, Brahmanandam and many others playing important roles. For National Award-winning director Gunasekhar, it was the story of Rudhramadevi, a prominent ruler of the Kakatiya dynasty in the 13th century, that truly captured his imagination. So there were few revolts against her rule from many chieftains in her kingdom.
Whenever, the 34-years-old starlet Anushka acts in a historical + legendary movie she earn huge accolades both critically and commercially.
Also to be released in Tamil, “Rudhramadevi” has been made on a lavish budget of Rs 80 crores.
Rudramadevi is the first movie to have music by the Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra of London. He invested in a strong technical team, which included cinematography by Ajayan Vincent, art direction by Thotta Tharani and costumes by Neeta Lulla. Gunasekhar Speaking about choosing Anushka for the titular role, the director says, “I had actually not singled out Anushka for the role”.

The movie was released in around 160 screens yesterday across the United States with a hope of creating new records. He made this assurance after film’s director Gunasekhar met him on Thursday.
