Giuliani did veer toward 9/11 once, but it was to mention a word that is far more popular among Republicans these days: Benghazi, a topic previous speakers had already dwelled on for more than half an hour. “He will reassert America’s position as the nation with the best values to lead the world”, he said asking people to overwhelmingly support Trump in the November elections. “They fear for our police officers who are being targeted”, he said.
Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani ripped into Barack Obama for failing to deliver his promises on race relations and national unity.
“[Giuliani] seems to think that the United States is in the same condition as NY was in the early ’90s and they need a strongman like a Donald Trump”. It resonated well with the audience, who applauded enthusiastically. His opening line was, “Blue – lives – matter!”.
He added, “Police don’t care if you’re black or white”.
He stressed that people don’t feel safe and America can’t be great until people do.
You deserve to know this personal side about your next President. He suggested that African-American children should be taught that other African-American children are risky.
“I know we can change it because I did it by changing New York City from the crime capital of America to the safest large city in the United States”.
(5) Before the evening session, the “Never Trump” movement stalled after its leaders failed to force a protest vote.
But he also praised and defended Trump as “a man with a big heart” and condemned what he called a “vicious, nasty campaign”.

Smith’s speech, which had some delegates in tears, was factually wrong and seems unlikely to convince anyone outside the convention hall to vote for Trump.
