Rudy Giuliani Stands Up for Trump again, Decries “Media Bias”

In addition to being the mayor of New York City during the attacks and their aftermath, he cited his response to them as a testament to his qualifications during his presidential campaigns.

“[Mike Pence was] a member of the Foreign Affairs and Judiciary Committee during the time of September 11, when we went through the worst foreign attack in our history since the War of 1812”, he continued, referencing GOP presidential candidate Trump’s VP pick.

Given that Giuliani’s entire post-mayoral career has been based on the fact that he was the mayor of New York City when the World Trade Center was destroyed on September 11, 2001 – eight months into Bush’s first term, and more than seven years before Obama succeeded him – it was a freaky mistake for him to make.

Giuliani claimed all such attacks “started when Clinton and Obama got into office”.

According to CNN, Trump’s spokesman, Jason Miller, defended Rudy’s remarks, saying that he was referring to the time in between 9/11 and Obama’s inauguration.

Of course, the former mayor didn’t actually forget about the attacks, he just wanted to underscore his point that Obama is responsible for increasing terrorism. That made his comments Monday all the more puzzling. As the mayor of New York City from 1994 until 2001, it was odd when he suggested that no terrorist attack had occurred prior to Obama’s presidency.

I am so relieved to learn from Rudy Giuliani that 9/11 never happened. I was there. I lost a lot of friends that were killed in that building. “I think about it every day”.
