Rudy Giuliani: Ted Cruz should apologize to New York City
“If we stand together as we the people, we will restore this last best hope for mankind, the shining city on the hill that is the United States of America”, Cruz said. “Nobody likes him. Nobody in Congress likes him”.

CNN- Ted Cruz on Friday offered an extended “apology” to those offended by his criticism of “New York values”, but rather than back down from his controversial comments, he instead slammed the Empire State’s “liberal politicians”. “And if he had any class, he would apologize to the people of NY”.
The Texas senator has attempted to draft off of the anger that Trump has stoked among Republican primary voters, repeatedly saying that Trump’s bid was beneficial for Cruz’s own candidacy as an insurgent outsider. “I was disappointed by your disparaging remarks about NY values somehow being different from Iowa and New Hampshire values”, Smith wrote.
Trump has also been publicly skeptical of Cruz’s eligibility to become president.
“He didn’t report bank loans”, Trump told a Tea Party convention in SC, even as Cruz fans in the crowd booed him.
A staunch defender of Wall Street, Giuliani accused the Texan of being a hypocrite for taking donations from New Yorkers and then ripping the city. In that 1999 spot, Trump ascribed his pro-choice views and support for gays serving in the military, in part, to having lived all his life in NY. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, has been put increasingly on the defensive by questions about his USA citizenship.
“I think we’re all Americans”, he said.
With Trump now needing to fend off Cruz’s rise in Iowa, he pushed his charge that Cruz may not be constitutionally qualified to serve as President because he was born in Canada.
“Personally, I saw what the senator said as being more tongue in cheek”, Boteach said, suggesting that perhaps Cruz’s comments were partly inspired by a scathing New York Times op-ed. I am biased because I have known her for years.
“He’s taken money from people that are very much into the whole gay marriage situation”, he said on This Week. Cruz is in a distant second place in most national polls, and in Iowa the two are in a much closer race.

“We’re the biggest city in the country; we’re the greatest city in the country – for him to play to the – you know, his political base and play his political game against the values and interest of eight-and-a-half million Americans is absolutely disgusting”, de Blasio said. “It’s not a good thing for the country”, said Trump, who has led Republican opinion polls for months.
