Rumor: Fable Legends Might Be Released After All
Cancelled Xbox One/PC game Fable Legends may be resurrected at an independent studio formed by ex-Lionhead employees, a new report has revealed. Fans weren’t happy to see the end of a studio that created wonderful games brimming with personality and possibility, the community at large were disappointed by Microsoft’s decision.

Right now with talks going on between Microsoft and Lionhead, Fable Legends is in suspended animation, which makes it safe to say that fans can remain hopeful. To not release a near complete game isn’t uncommon but it is always an unusual practice, as the hard work is done – especially as this was to be Free to Play. It seems however, that all may not be lost just yet. Microsoft declined to comment on the reports aside from reiterating last month’s cancellation of the title, although they did confirm being in discussion with Lionhead employees about the proposed studio closure.
So Fable Legends is not entirely dead, it is still a tad bit alive. This would be quite the relief, considering how far along the game was in development before it was scrapped. Their current line is simply that Fable Legends is no longer in development, and that Lionhead is now proposed to be closed as well. Three sources at the studio have now told MCV that they have been asked if they would like to continue working on Legends or accept the redundancy packages offered to them.
