The big announcement ended with an awkward apology from host Steve Harvey after he mistakenly named Miss Colombia, Ariadna Gutierrez, the victor of the 2015 Miss Universe.

But as contestant Ariadna Gutierrez-Arévalo waltzed around the stage with a crown on, Steve came back to reveal first prize actually belonged to Miss Philippines.
Meanwhile, Miss Australia Monika Radulovic also shared what it was like to be on stage during the Moment No One Will Ever Forget, telling 7 News she and other women on the stage saw a teleprompter which read “Philippines take your first walk as Miss Universe ” after Harvey had announced Miss Colombia as the victor.
Former Miss California Toay Foster Ortiz said either Harvey made an honest mistake or the whole thing was part of a larger plan.
Ariadna remained poised and professional as she had the crown removed from her head and given to Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach of the Philippines, and she later tried to remain positive about the huge embarrassment. “Thank you all, thank you for voting for me”.
“I decided that maybe it was bad timing to do it now – to apologize to her for what happened”. “I was watching Miss Universe with my family and we even celebrated when we heard Colombia was going to be Miss Universe for the second year in a row”.
Considering the genuine grace and humility that Gutierrez has already displayed throughout this entire affair, it’s likely that Miss Colombia would probably forgive Harvey for that, too. We feel so badly but it’s still a great night. The caption references the fact that Miss Colombia, Paulina Vega, won the 2014 Miss Universe title.
Radulovic, who belonged to the pageant’s top five, said that she felt “terrible” for Gutierrez and Wurtzbach.
Presidential candidate Donald Trump and NBC Universal were co-owners of the Miss Universe Organization until earlier this year. “For me Miss France was the real victor”, she said in an interview uploaded to Facebook page Missosology.
