The 2016 Rio Olympics has been a pretty wild ride so far, with its own fair share of rather unsavory moments.

The Rio Olympics that has seen a few unsavory incidents: For example, Islam El Shehaby, the Egyptian judoka, refused to shake hands with his Israeli opponent, as The Christian Science Monitor reported.
Both athletes are longshots for a medal (D’Agostino only made that heat after two runners dropped out), but it’s become about much more than that.
Both Hamblin and D’Agostino will be allowed to enter the final race because they were affected by a trip. The two athletes hit the ground hard.
She and Hamblin were both advanced to the final by track officials, but only the New Zealander will now be able to take part.
“Get up. We have to finish this”, D’Agostino told her.
Hamblin spoke to reporters after the race.
“I was like, ‘Yep, you’re right”.
“And I’m like ‘Okay, yep, yep, you’re right, it’s the Olympic Games, we have to finish this. Get up! We have to finish this”.
The two runners were unacquainted – until Tuesday’s fall. D’Agostino, grimacing in pain the entire time, continued running and finished about thirty seconds after Hamblin. Hamblin did what she could, hanging back with D’Agostino for a little while to return the favor and offer encouragement. Hamblin returned the encouraging gesture and helped D’Agostino for a bit of the run.
HollywoodLifers, what do you think of Abbey helping Nikki out? That girl was the Olympic spirit right there.
“Someone had to go help her”, Hamblin said of her act, “And if I could even give her one per cent back of what she gave me when she helped me get off the track, that would be unbelievable”. “And I am so glad she did”. “And isn’t that just so incredible?”
Hamblin described D’Agostino as “an incredible woman” and revealed that the pair had never met before the collision.
D’Agnostino finished the race despite an ankle injury, finishing in 30th place.

After the race, Hamblin expressed great appreciation for D’Agostino’s help and said that, although they didn’t know each other before the race, she hopes to remain friends after this ordeal.
