A native of Melbourne, Australia, Murdoch divorced his third wife, Wendi Deng, in 2013 after 14 years, saying their marriage had been irretrievably broken.

One friend who was disappointed to be missing the nuptials was Dame Joan Collins, who told HELLO! magazine that Jerry had “an unmistakeable glow” after confiding that she had become engaged to Rupert in December. She has four children from her relationship with Jagger and has an estimated net worth of $AUD20 million.

This is Murdoch’s fourth marriage.

Murdoch and Hall were first spotted together at the Rugby World Cup final at Twickenham on October 31 a year ago and announced their engagement in The Times on January 12.

It is the first official marriage for Texas-born Hall.

The former model had married Jagger in an unofficial Hindu ceremony in Bali, but their marriage was declared invalid by the Church of England in 1999.

Following the ceremony at palatial Spencer House in London, the media mogul (84) tweeted: “No more tweets for ten days or ever!”
