Hollywood star Russell Crowe has hit out at Virgin Australia after he and his children were told they could not take hoverboards on a flight.
“We’re sorry you were not aware of this prior to check-in today”.
Yes, Russell Crowe was so furious with Virgin Airlines that he canceled his flight because they wouldn’t allow hoverboards.
Despite clearly stating that recreational vehicles like Segway’s are not permitted on their flights, Virgin Australia has since replied via tweets to Crowe, apologizing for the inconvenience and explaining the safety concerns. British Airways, Singapore Airlines, as well as major USA airlines and, you guessed it, Virgin, have all introduced various bans on Segways or other forms of hover or self-balancing boards, either on board or in the hold.
The actor had been planning to fly from Sydney, Australia, to Coffs Harbour in New South Wales along with his sons Tennyson and Charlies, when Virgin Australia revealed they had to be removed from the flight due to the contents of their luggage.
“I’m awaiting your reply, where is your duty of responsibility in this?”

It said it had also posted information on its Facebook and Twitter accounts. In response to Australian comedian Joel Creasy’s tweet “you’re a millionaire, babe. We understand your frustration, however please appreciate that safety is our number one priority”.
