Russell Westbrook gets ejected, finishes with no assists

Oklahoma City Thunder guard Russell Westbrook is threatening to become the first National Basketball Association player to average a triple-double since Cincinnati Royals Hall of Famer Oscar Robertson achieved the double-figure points, assists and rebounds mark during the 1961-62 National Basketball Association season.

In 23 minutes, Westbrook recorded 21 points, five rebounds, no assists and six turnovers.

Victor Oladipo scored 15 points for Oklahoma City in his return from a right wrist injury.

Brandon Bass and Marreese Speights led the Clippers with 18 points each off the bench in their second loss to the Thunder this year.

Devin Harris also scored 14 points, while Dorian Finney-Smith had 12 points.

Nicolas Batum collected 16 points, 13 rebounds and eight assists as the Charlotte Hornets beat the Miami Heat 91-82, while George Hill returned from a 13-game absence to score 21 points as the Utah Jazz beat the Philadelphia 76ers 100-83. They do have two games (against the Rockets and Clippers) with a rest disadvantage. Los Angeles shot 41 percent (31 for 75) from the field. Somehow it still seems like he’s being overlooked and underrated (26.5 points, 6.8 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 2.5 steals in his last five games).

Oklahoma City Thunder guard Russell Westbrook (0) drives to the basket against LA Clippers forward Luc Mbah a Moute (12) during the fourth quarter at Chesapeake Energy Arena. “I learned in the summertime, once they make a call, they ain’t changing it”. National Basketball Association trade scenario is suggesting that the Clippers will send Blake Griffin to the Thunder in exchange for Enes Kanter and Domantas Sabonis.

The Clippers have been searching for answers with players in and out of the line up. Both teams played the second of back-to-back games, with the first being on the road.

Thunder coach Billy Donovan spoke in defense of Westbrook during his postgame news conference. Blake helps push the ball when they need a change of pace and his scoring threat from the elbows and post can’t be replaced. He actually hit the triple-double mark in less than 20 minutes in the first half.
