The new police pup, Dobrynya, is replacing fallen seven-year-old Belgian Malinois, Diesel.
Dobrynya is named after a Russian epic knight, who is a symbol of strength, kindness and bravery.
Russian Federation pledged to replace the dog and later revealed pictures showing a puppy called Dobrynya who would be gifted to France.
A series of terror attacks rocked Paris on November 6 with shootings, bomb blasts and hostage taking.
Russian Federation has presented France with a puppy as a symbolic replacement for a police dog killed in the aftermath of the Paris attacks last month.
Two terrorists died in the raid that killed Diesel, including the suspected ringleader of the Paris attacks, Abdelhamid Abaaoud, and a relative, Hasna Ait Boulahcen.
The French Ambassador to Russia, Jean-Maurice Ripert, described the gift as “a gesture that comes from the heart”.
Like her predecessor Diesel, Dobrynya will work with the French police force to help in the fight against terrorism.

Social media users paid their own tribute to Diesel by creating the hastag “JeSuisChien”, meaning “I am dog”. The dog’s death touched the French, who shared photos of their pets on social networks with the hashtag #JeSuisDiesel.
