Russia’s Use of Hamadan Base is ‘Profitable for Iran’
“So much for the new relationship with Russian Federation”. Dehghan over the weekend said Russia’s use of the air base was not their concern.

Iran has also discussed with Russia, the production licensing of the Russian T-90 tank inside Iran.
Graham is also a leader in cutting spending, reforming entitlements, and getting government out of the way so businesses can create jobs.
There is no restriction on buying Russian-made military choppers, Chairman of the Iranian Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Alaeddin Boroujerdi told reporters on Wednesday.
Iran is in alliance with Russian Federation in its battle against terrorism in Syria, Larijani was quoted as saying. No foreign power has based forces in Iran since World War II. That announcement prompted Iranian defence minister General Hossein Dehghan to criticize Russia’s “showing off and inconsiderate attitude”.
“A total of 20 MPs called for explanations on Russia’s use of Hamadan air base given that Iran’s Constitution has banned establishment of any foreign military base in the country; the request meant to bringing about coordination and synergy among all three forces while, unfortunately, it has not been addressed yet”, said Sadeghi who represents people of Tehran in the Parliament.
On August 16, Russian Federation used Iran’s Hamadan base amid anti-terror operations in Syria to carry out airstrikes against Daesh and al-Nusra Front. However, Iranian government’s focus is on acquiring the capability and technology to produce the systems in-country rather than depending on Russian Federation for weapons. Dehghan “should have observed the ethics of governing”, Larijani said.
The Russians too may quietly continue to use the base until bases in Syria are upgraded in the fall, analysts say.
According to the official, Tehran and Moscow have “all-out relations”, which are based “on national interests and in the form of strategic cooperation”.
