Russia’s Warplanes Withdrawal From Iranian Base Confirmed
Further use of the Hamadan airbase would be based on mutual agreements on fighting terrorism and the evolving situation in Syria, the spokesman said.

The Iranian official stated that the massive propaganda campaign by Western and Saudi media against cooperation among Iran, Russia and Syria is part of a psychological warfare to cover up the heavy defeat of their allies in Palmyra (Tadmur in Arabic), Idlib, suburbs of Latakia and Aleppo.
Iran and Russia are both claiming Russia’s withdrawal from Iran’s Hamadan Airbase has occurred because Russia’s operations in Syria from the base have concluded, but the timing follows some harsh words from Iranian officials accusing the Russians of “ungentlemanly” boasting about their operations in Iran. The article states that Iran will not allow any foreign army to use its bases. It worth to note, in response to the revoking the permission, the Russian MoD issued a statement, in which informed on completing the missions in Syria.
Last week, Russian Federation announced it used the airfield, located some 50 kilometers (31 miles) north of the Iranian city of Hamedan.
The comments by Gen. Hossein Dehghan came after he chastised parliament this weekend for asking questions about Russian Federation using the base.
Iran’s Foreign Ministry said Russian Federation had stopped using the base for strikes in Syria, bringing an abrupt halt to an unprecedented deployment that was criticized both by the White House and by some Iranian lawmakers. Previously, the USA has said it would use its veto power in the United Nations’ Security Council to ban such a sale. Dehghan “should have observed the ethics of governing”, Larijani said. That announcement prompted Iranian defence minister General Hossein Dehghan to criticize Russia’s “showing off and inconsiderate attitude”.
Victor Mizin, a professor at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations, Russia’s university for diplomats, said the symbolism of the air base deal had been important in Moscow.

The Russians too may quietly continue to use the base until bases in Syria are upgraded in the fall, analysts say. In the northern Syrian city of Hasakeh, clashes again broke out between Kurdish fighters and pro-government militias, according to the Kurdish Hawar News Agency.
