Russian Federation Destroys Islamic State Command Center in Syria
Lt. Gen. Robert P. Otto, the Air Force’s deputy chief of staff for intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, told reporters in Washington that it appeared the Russian forces were using “dumb bombs” instead of weapons guided by lasers or satellites.

It’s like driving at high speed down a road, he said, before seeing another driver merge into your lane. Meteorologists said the Carolinas will probably get the worst of it, with 15 inches of rain in places and landslides possible in the mountains.
The Russians are proving to be a game changer in the region.
Although Obama administration officials have said there is room for Russian Federation to join their military coalition against the Islamic State, Otto made clear that he didn’t see much potential for the two adversaries to collaborate beyond working to ensure that they don’t inadvertently run into each other in the skies over Syria.
“Just as a commander, I would rather my guys fly in a less complicated spot, so it’s concerning”.
Otto didn’t rule out the possibility of such a confrontation between Russian and American pilots, saying Russian President Vladimir Putin’s intentions remain unclear. The airstrikes were carried out in eight Syrian sites, which Russian Federation claimed to have Islamic State targets. “It’s unlikely that they have brought the support equipment with them that we do on our TSPs [theatre security packages], ” one Air Force official said.
Russian Federation began airstrikes on Wednesday to bolster the regime of President Bashar al-Assad. “We can use this type of aircraft to deliver strikes anywhere in Syria“. Do you want to enter a new quagmire.
Diametrical differences with the USA over whether Assad should go also have complicated the two countries’ ability to cooperate.
The announcement came as news reports indicate Russian planes struck targets in Syria for the second straight day.
Staffan de Mistura’s office said the United Nations team had made all necessary preparations to immediately implement the humanitarian provisions as part of the implementation of a ceasefire agreement. “We also agreed that it is imperative to find a solution to the conflict and to avoid escalating it in any way or seeing it intensified by forces beyond anybody’s control”.
In Washington, the inter-military talks drew scorn from critics of President Barack Obama, who they say has mishandled the Syria crisis and let Russian Federation step into a vacuum of global leadership.
ROSEBURG, Ore. (AP) – When the gunshots started at Umpqua Community College, a few people mistook them for falling books. The Syrians trained and equipped by the USA have primarily been operating in the north. Both USA and Russian planes are now launching daily air strikes in the crowded Syrian airspace.
Otto, however, said any cooperation should not include the sharing of any form of intelligence.
“Our message to the Russians – I met with Putin – please join this fight against Daesh,” he said, referring to the Arabic acronym for ISIS.

ELEUTHERA, Bahamas (AP) – Hurricane Joaquin destroyed houses, uprooted trees and unleashed heavy flooding as it hurled torrents of rain across the Bahamas on Friday, and the U.S. Coast Guard said it was trying to reach a disabled cargo ship with 33 people aboard that lost contact during the storm.
