Russian Federation eyed in latest Democrat hack, this time targeting Clinton campaign
Reuters described that attack as a “broad cyber attack on Democratic political organizations”.

The Clinton campaign said on Friday that an analytics data program, which it shared with other Democratic Party entities, had been accessed by hackers.
The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, the fund- raising arm for House Democrats, also said last Friday that its systems had been hacked.
However, Hillary’s campaign in a statement said that its internal systems were not compromised.
The national security division of the Department of Justice is looking into whether cyber attacks on Democratic political organisations threatened U.S. security, according to USA media.
The DNC hack earlier this year compromised the security of party emails – and may have resulted in last week’s leak of messages concerning the White House bids of Clinton and Vermont Sen. Clinton’s campaign said the hack on the DNC had accessed an analytics data program that it used.
USA officials widely believe that the cyber attacks were committed by agents working for the Russian government.
The Democrats have accused the Kremlin of trying to influence the United States election with the goal of elevating Donald Trump – who enjoys a friendly relationship with Vladimir Putin – to the presidency.
The attacks on the Clinton campaign and the Democratic congressional committee were first reported by Reuters.
The DCCC called its intrusion “similar” to the attack on the Democratic National Committee (DNC), which led to Wikileaks publishing tens of thousands of internal emails.
The intrusion was discovered by private investigators hired by the campaign, according to the law enforcement officials.
After Trump jokingly asked the Russians to release Hillary Clinton’s deleted personal emails, Clinton’s campaign criticized him for endangering national security by inciting espionage.

According to a USA official and another source with direct knowledge of the matter, the campaign didn’t grant an Federal Bureau of Investigation request to examine its internal data. It’s unknown at this point which group perpetuated the attack on Clinton’s campaign.
