Russian Federation kills 10 militants who had sworn allegiance to ISIS
Russian authorities say they have killed 11 members of the jihadist militant group Islamic State (ISIS) in one of Russia’s North Caucasus Republics after a shootout in the outskirts of the region’s capital.

“According to preliminary information, 10 bandits have been neutralised”, Russia’s national anti-terrorism committee said in a statement quoted by TASS news agency. It said all 11 militants were killed after opening fire on the officers and using grenades, while there were no fatalities among the officers.
“They were all members of armed groups that had sworn allegiance to the worldwide terrorist organisation ISIL”.
Concerns about security in Russian Federation have been mounting since Moscow launched its air campaign against IS targets in Syria late September at the request of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
“The gang had organized channels for sending local residents to Syria to fight alongside terror groups”, the NAK operations headquarters said.
Russian Federation last week intensified its airstrikes in Syria in retaliation for the October 31 bombing of its passenger plane in Egypt, for which IS claimed responsibility.
Eleven militants affiliated to Daesh have been killed by security forces in Russia’s North Caucasus region.
Russian officials said earlier that a few thousand Russian citizens, mainly from the North Caucasus, were fighting along with Islamic militants in Syria and Iraq.
