Russian Federation plane crash: Moscow bans Egypt Air flights

The tragedy is the largest civil aviation disaster in Russian history.

The aviation agency didn’t give any immediate reason for the ban on flights.

Moscow said the ban was necessary because of concerns about security at Egypt’s airports.

The 18 year old airliner was manufactured in Germany, while its engine was made in the United States.

Russian state media reported that numerous 217 passengers on Kogalymavia Flight 9268 were Russians returning from vacation.

On Thursday, the U.S. National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and the FBI, which says it had offered “forensic assistance to Egypt and Russian Federation, denied in a statement to Reuters that they have been invited to join the Egyptian-led investigation into the crash”.
