Six Russian football fans have been arrested in the German city of Cologne after attacking three Spanish tourists, the RIA Novosti news agency reported Friday.

German police found that the six Russians flew into Marseille from Moscow on June 10. The fans had arrived from Marseille, France, where fighting between Russian and English fans supporters marred the build-up to their Euro 2016 clash. The sixth was subsequently arrested at Cologne-Bonn airport, where the suspects had been due to board a flight.

“The people were on their way to the airport in the evening to go back to Moscow”, the spokesperson said.

The suspects arrested allegedly drunk and had tickets to Russia’s matches, as well as face masks and mouth guards that police regard as typical hooligan gear. “Most likely, it will be tonight”, said Belyayev.
