Russian Journalists Injured in Syria

Still, al-Zoubi didn’t comment on the Turkish downing of the Russian warplane near the Syrian-Turkish borders earlier on Tuesday. France’s flagship aircraft carrier, Charles de Gaulle will shortly take part in air strikes against the IS group said the country’s defence minister Jean-Yves Le Drian.

According to the ministry, the three journalists were on the way to the village of Al-Dagmashliya in the government-controlled province of Latakia when a missile landed near their auto.

The Russian defence ministry said last week that it was “hunting” oil transporters in a bid to cut IS financing and claimed that in the past five days some 1,000 fuel trucks had been destroyed.

The report, which has not been substantiated by other sources, claims Russian military forces have been providing cover for T-90 tanks along with military air support which have attacked multiple strategic targets held by rebel forces in Idlib and Latakia.

Roman Kosarev sustained a concussion while Sargon Hadaya was injured by pieces of shrapnel that lodged themselves in his back and his leg.

A group of Russian journalists came under fire in Syria on Monday, the Russian Defense Ministry said.
