Putin is likely to meet U.S. President Barack Obama for informal talks on the margins of the climate conference in Paris, the Kremlin said.

The body of a Russian pilot killed by rebels in Syria after his jet was downed by Turkey’s military has been handed over to Turkish authorities.
Ahmet Davutoglu also said Turkey hopes Moscow will reconsider economic sanctions announced against Turkish interests following last week’s incident.
Russia’s state-run Sputnik news agency reported that Peshkov’s body was met by Minister of Defense Sergei Shoigu and Russian air force Commander-in-Chief Victor Bondarev.
Earlier, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan had expressed “sadness” over an incident which has severely strained relations, saying that “we wish it had never happened”.
Russian jets in Syria are carrying air-to-air missiles “for self defence” after the downing of one of their warplanes by Turkey. Russia, on the other hand, maintains that the plane, which was shot down, didn’t intrude on Turkish airspace, reported ABC 15.
“We tell Russia, ‘Let’s talk about this issue within its boundaries, and let’s settle it, ‘ ” Erdogan said Saturday.
Turkey is part of a coalition of countries led by the United States that have been bombing Islamic State positions in both Syria and Iraq, while also calling for Syrian president Bashar al-Assad to step down.
Erdogan has previously said that the Turkish jets which were ordered to bring down the Russian Su-24 last Tuesday did not realize the jet was a Russian jet and would have acted differently had they known.
Vladimir Putin has this weekend called for sanctions against Turkey.
Lilit Gevorgyan, senior economist at IHS Global Insight, said the confrontation was “a major setback of more than a decade long efforts to build commercial and energy partnership between Russian Federation and Turkey, despite their geopolitical and historic differences”.
However while the Turk Stream and Akkuyu projects may be at risk, no Russian energy official has seriously suggested cutting off energy supplies to Turkey, a move that would severely hurt Russian gas giant Gazprom.
