Ryan Adams Recording Smiths Version Of Taylor Swift LP

You may still be dancing along to “Bad Blood” with Taylor Swift and Kendrick Lamar, but T-Swizzle has already chosen her next single from 1989: “Wildest Dreams”.

“Guaranteed saddest version of “Welcome to New York” ever – or your tears back”, he wrote in an Instagram post featuring an annotated copy of the song’s lyrics.

Prolific indie rocker Ryan Adams has undertaken some unusual projects over the years, including a sci-fi metal concept album in 2010 and penning a comic series. As he noted in a tweet to Swift, “We’re sandblasting them and they’re holding steady”. The third song Adams plans on recording is “Style”.

The “When The Stars Go Blue” singer went on to post a quick video clip of his take on “Welcome to New York”. Swift herself reacted with joy and glee at the news. But it’s no stretch to say that Adams’ cover is shaping up to be the best and biggest yet.
