Brewers OF Ryan Braun has been named to the National League All-Star team, the team announced Sunday.
According to the Orange County Register, Pederson will become the first-ever Dodgers rookie to start the All-Star Game.
For Braun, it’s his sixth All-Star honor of his career but first since the 65-game suspension he served at the end of the 2013 season in connection with the Biogenesis scandal.
Braun, 31, came into Sunday hitting.272/.338/.485 (124 OPS+) with 17 doubles, 15 home runs, 55 RBI and 12 home runs on the season.
Braun will replace St. Louis Cardinals’ outfielder Matt Holliday, who has been nursing a quadriceps injury that has kept the slugger off the diamond for over a month. He had just 19 last season in 580 plate appearances.
