Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella and chief legal officer Brad Smith have taken a strong stand against United States President Donald Trump’s stance to shut down the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), which grants two-year work permits and preserves deportation of 800,000 undocumented people. One source cautioned that the president could change his mind.

“I have always believed DACA was a presidential overreach”, Graham, who is part of bipartisan legislation on the issue, said Monday. “Today I join business leaders across the country in calling on our President to keep the DACA program in place and protect Dreamers from fear of deportation”.
Since his election last fall, President Donald Trump has had immigration reform in his sights – and many have speculated about the president’s plans for some of the youngest undocumented immigrants.
According to several reports, Trump is expected to announce Tuesday that he will cancel the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program after a six-month delay. Yet, conservative Republicans insist that the program be scrapped.
Though Denham has done much to advocate for Dreamers, admitted the town hall’s immigration panelist Priya Murthy, she said the Congressman is supporting bills on the weaker side of the DACA-protection spectrum.
Democrats, like Senator Al Franken of Minnesota, also wanted the program to continue.
California Sen. Kamala Harris called the decision “heartless”.
“We need a government that protects Dreamers”, he continued.
The letter, organized by Facebook chief executive Mark Zuckerberg’s FWD.us and signed by leaders of almost 400 other companies, also urged Congress to pass legislation that would provide a permanent fix for the young undocumented immigrants. “I have to deal with a lot of politicians, don’t forget, and I have to convince them that what I’m saying is right…”
But Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin downplayed those warnings on Sunday, telling Fox News Sunday he was “less concerned about the economic impact”. Their goals represent the American Dream. Many have lived here as long as… New York, Illinois and Florida also have large numbers.
As a result, the president is likely to draw fire from both sides.
Asked if DACA recipients – generally known as DREAMers – should be anxious, he responded, “We love the DREAMers”.
No one’s DACA status will be revoked before it expires, administration officials said, and any applications already received by Tuesday will be processed.

The latest study by groups that support DACA estimated that 1,400 people a day could lose their protections if renewals ended.
