Also on the horizon is the possibility of surgery to fix a torn ligament in quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick’s left (non-throwing) thumb.
I’ll come right out and say it: this is a good thing.
Nick Folk (below) was unable to kick on Sunday after injuring HIS quad during warmups. Ownership already has said it won’t make any changes during the season, but it would’ve been ugly if they had lost to the Bills, who scored 28 unanswered points amid a few questionable coaching decisions by Bradley. Jacksonville’s leading tackler, Telvin Smith, is a second-year player, and Johnathan Cyprien, who is third on the team in tackles and had 13 total tackles against the NY Jets on Sunday, is a third-year player. They have been blown out, 51-17 by the New England Patriots. Wesley Johnson, who started in Mangold’s place last weekend, replaced him again in the second quarter. The veteran cornerback was unable to finish the game as he suffered a thigh injury in the second half.
With time winding down before halftime, NY curiously ran on three straight plays and then got just a 31-yard punt from Quigley that put the ball at the 50 for the Jaguars with 26 seconds left.
With the play, Hurns increased his franchise record to six straight games with a TD reception.
