Ryan Fitzpatrick proves he’s worth every dollar for Jets

Ryan’s defense was embarrassingly bad against the Jets, and that’s on Rex’s scheme.

The Buffalo Bills fired offensive coordinator Greg Roman on Friday and replaced him with assistant head coach/running backs coach Anthony Lynn. If that’s how Roman truly felt, he should have resigned.

I’d like to say first that I appreciate Greg Roman. “We then discussed how we could best make this work for everybody moving forward”. “I think we have a lot of talent on offense”. He is doubling down on what he thinks is best for the offense, and putting a former running backs coach in charge of getting the run game going. “It’s been one of the strangest, most disconnected first two games of any season”, said analyst Matt Sabuda during WBFO’s Beyond the Playbook. While they believe that they’ve found themselves a quarterback, the team has done little else to prove that Ryan’s words were anything other than a blustered attempt to pander to the fan base. It was nice to see offensive coordinator Greg Roman remember that Tyrod Taylor could throw the long ball, but it was a shame that, like so many National Football League coaches, his brain got in the way of his play-calling on too many occasions.

-COACHING: F – Rex Ryan may have just planted himself on the hot seat.

Ryan said the decision came from him, though ownership was okay with the move, per Matthew Fairburn of New York Upstate. He’s the one who is an extension of the coaching staff.

It’s going to be interesting to see if new offensive coordinator Anthony Lynn can do something more with the offense in Roman’s stead. I’m also accountable for making these decisions. Taylor was a solid dual-threat in 2015 but ran the ball less frequently the first two games of this season, while not looking overly confident as a passer as well.

“Coach Roman was my tight ends coach my first two years at Stanford”, Eagles tight end Zach Ertz told The Press in 2014.

The defensive-minded head coach using his offensive coordinator as a scapegoat the day after giving up 37 points and almost 500 yards to a division rival. Buffalo put up 31 points on a great Jets defense, so why are the Bills canning Roman this soon? Now they’re off to a 0-2 beginning this season and 0-4 could be within sight, with the Arizona Cardinals and New England Patriots up next on the schedule.

The Bills’ offense is off to sputtering start.

However, it went down, though, misses the bigger point in that Ryan has been an abject failure as a defensive-minded coach since arriving in Buffalo.
