With the New York Jets set to start training camp Thursday, they finally have their quarterback back in the fold.

Ryan Fitzpatrick says he would not wish his offseason contract drama on any other player after finally signing a new deal with the New York Jets.

The Jets supposedly sent the $12 million 1 year deal with the clause that Fitzpatrick had until 7 pm ET to sign or no deal would be made.
According to ESPN, the Jets view Fitzpatrick as a “bridge” quarterback, holding down the starting position until rookie Christian Hackenberg or second-year quarterback Bryce Petty are ready to take over.
Geno knows he had an easy path to be the starter of the New York Jets this year and it was all for not after the Jets & Fitzpatrick agreed on a deal. “I thought we got past that a year ago”.
“All along, all I wanted was a fair and reasonable deal”, he said.
“I’m happy with the outcome”, he said.
The Jets scored their first winning season in 2015 since 2010 with the veteran.
Marshall, who enjoyed one of the best seasons of his career in tandem with Fitzpatrick, has been vocal in his support of Fitzpatrick and appeared to express his happiness with the agreement on Wednesday night. It doesn’t matter who we play – if you win 10 games or double figures, your schedule is going to be tougher.
“I have something to prove every year”, Fitzpatrick said to Hughes.
I also think the Jets threaded the needle in the terms of this contract.
A strong market for Fitzpatrick never developed as age, previous performance and the fact he has never reached the playoffs in 11 National Football League seasons all likely played roles. He threw for at least 3,000 yards and 23 touchdowns in each of those campaigns with the Bills, and showed he could be even better in his first year with NY.
In a race against time, Fitzpatrick drove his truck through the security entrance at the Jets’ facility and then hurried to make his way into the building.

But now, all of those are things of the past and Fitzpatrick is returning for another season.
