Ryan Fitzpatrick throws for 374 yards as Jets beat Bills
-The Bills were unable to get a yard on two consecutive plays with seven minutes left in the game trailing by six (30-24) as the Jets forced a turnover on downs at the NY 45-yard line.

-Lorenzo Alexander had a forced fumble when he stripped Ryan Fitzpatrick of the ball in the pocket, but the Jets recovered. Unlike last season, the Twitter stream won’t be a one-off experience but rather a semi-regular simulcast over the course of the season, with this being the first of ten Thursday Night Football games to be made available.
Fitz thoroughly outplayed his Buffalo counterpart, Tyrod Taylor, who threw three touchdown passes – including TD bombs of 84 yards to Marquise Goodwin and 71 yards to Greg Salas – but was largely ineffective otherwise. The Buffalo Bills linebacker can rush off the edge, play the run and drop into coverage so having him on the field is important to say the least.
Some were critical of the signing of running back Matt Forte in the offseason because his age suggested that he’d be well past his prime for the Jets. Forte would go on to score three touchdowns and prove to still be the difference maker offensively that he was during his days in Chicago. Maybe it doesn’t atone for Week 1 of this season, which so visibly annoyed Todd Bowles and the rest of the Jets all across a prickly short week in advance of this had-to-have-it collision with the Bills.
Jets Quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick went 24 of 34 for 374 yards and a touchdown with no interceptions.
The performance of Ryan’s cornerbacks Thursday night against the New York Jets was a dramatic turn for the worst.
The Jets suffered a scare when Marshall’s left leg bent awkwardly after he was taken down by a horse-collar tackle after making a catch. The Bills were able to sack Fitzpatrick only once, which Ryan expected going into the game; few defenses are able to bring down Fitzpatrick before he fires off a pass, Ryan explained. Fitzpatrick and Gailey showed no fear against the Buffalo secondary, attacking them deep down the middle and burning them for chunk play after chunk play.
Dan Carpenter’s 38-yard field goal cut the Jets lead to 20-10 just before halftime.
Marshall missed only a couple of offensive plays spanning two series in the second quarter, and made a 21-yard catch upon his return.
-After a three and out by Buffalo’s offense, the Jets staged their third consecutive scoring drive marching 66 yards on six plays before Matt Forte plunged in from a yard out to give the Jets the lead (13-7) early in the second quarter.
The Bills (0-2) are suddenly reeling in Ryan’s second season as coach, and two years after being fired by the Jets. The Bills are in tough now. A loss to the Jets, with Arizona and the Patriots looming, could create a sense of crisis within the team.

It didn’t take long for Fitzpatrick to look for his favourite receiver. He has Rex’s number now, and I’m sure he won’t be alone before this year is through.
