“[Muslims] are among our best allies and resources against the fight with radical Islam”, Ryan said. “Hopefully, the campaign will move in a better direction so that it can be one that we can all be proud of”.

House Speaker Paul Ryan discussed his criticism of Donald Trump on ABC’s “This Week” on Sunday.

However, in making this unusual declaration (particularly as a Republican conservative), we are nevertheless STRUCK by the simultaneous clarity this Republican party spokesman is providing us with respect to where the importance of addressing racism stands in connection with the Republican party.

Trump, who was celebrating his 70th birthday on Tuesday, met at Trump Tower in NY with a host of Republican governors, including Oklahoma’s Mary Fallin, who a source close to the campaign says is on Trump’s short list to be his vice presidential running mate.

Trump is the nominee for the Republican Party.

Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton have outlined dramatically different proposals for fighting terrorism and gun violence following the deadly Orlando nightclub attacks. Both the shots at people he defeated in the primary and these attacks on various ethnic groups in the country… “These are the choices that we have”.

“And if we’re going to unite, it has to be over ideas”, Ryan said, seeming to get behind him for the sake of the party and not his satisfaction with the person. “We think more needs to be done”, he said.

“We do not have a nominee until after the convention”, Alexander asserted in response to a question.

‘I will use this power to protect the American people, ‘ he continued.

Ryan noted that House Republicans had passed visa waiver reform and refugee security test bills “to make sure that law enforcement gets the tools they need, so that we actually do control who comes and goes in this country”. Instead of hoping Tuesday was the last time he’d have to rebuke Trump, a resigned Ryan predicted that it would happen again: “It isn’t the first time I’ve had to do it, and it won’t be the last time if this continues”.

Ryan’s support for Trump has been tepid from the start, with the GOP leader initially saying he would withhold his endorsement until Trump made efforts to rein in his divisive rhetoric and affirm his commitment to Republican conservatism. “The delegates ultimately decide these things, but he won fair and square”.

What Ryan said about it: The violence at Trump’s rallies is “very concerning, “adding: “I think the candidates need to take responsibility for the environment at their events”.
