Ryan: Trump made ‘textbook definition of a racist comment’

Donald Trump, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, said USA allies including Japan, Germany and Saudi Arabia should be compelled to pay in full for American military protection.

Marco Rubio has responded to comments Donald Trump has made about an American judge’s ethnicity.

“Saying a person can’t do their job because of their race is sort of the textbook definition of a racist comment”, Ryan said.

“We will overcome”, Trump said, according to two supporters who were on the call and requested anonymity to share their notes with Bloomberg Politics. “No, I do not”.

Republicans have been distancing themselves from Trump’s criticism of Judge Gonzalo Curiel, who is overseeing cases against Trump University.

“Look, the comment about the judge the other day just was out of left field for my mind”, Ryan said, after Trump argued Judge Curiel had “an inherent conflict of interest”.

Noting that Trump’s sister is also a federal judge, CNN’s Wolf Blitzer asked Pierson if it would be “awful” to accuse her of bias “in regard to some case because she’s a woman”.

“His statements this week on the judge, that’s a new level”, Flake said on MSNBC.

Last week, the presidential candidate said Curiel had treated him unfairly because he was a Mexican opposed to Trump’s proposal to build a wall along the USA border with Mexico.

Christie defended the presumptive Republican nominee who has been criticized for saying U.S. District Judge Gonzalo Curiel can not judge him fairly because he is of Mexican heritage and Trump plans to build a wall with Mexico.

Lamparello says Trump’s remarks are reprehensible and racist.

The Manhattan real estate mogul who wrapped up the Republican presidential nomination in early May is scheduled to speak Tuesday night as he claims wins in the final five GOP delegate contests: California, Montana, New Jersey, New Mexico, and South Dakota.

“The individuals who are actually up for election are hesitating to make a strong stand because they don’t want to alienate Trump’s voters”, he said Monday, “but they also don’t want to alienate broader groups such as moderates, Hispanics or Democrats who might support them in the fall”. It is a despicable, baseless conclusion that Trump made worse by later adding that he didn’t think a Muslim judge could deliver an impartial decision on his case either. “I consistently said, ‘You know, if he became the nominee we would face these sorts of hard choices we now have, ‘” Marco Rubio told WFTV. I think they are inappropriate regardless, she said.

“Republicans, call him out, back away from those endorsements”, Scarborough said. “No, I do not”, Ryan quickly added, arguing that he’d stick by his party’s nominee despite what South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham described as the flawless opportunity to take the “off-ramp”. “That would be possible, absolutely”, Trump replied.
