Samsung’s recall saga continues, as it seems that South Korean officials are putting pressure on Samsung to conduct additional battery tests to Galaxy Note 7 smartphones part of the exchange program.

The official request came from the Korean Agency for Technology and Standards which primarily handles product safety regulations but is also responsible for supervising refund and recall programs such as the one Samsung just introduced.
He again urged Note 7 users to exchange their phones as quickly as possible and to stop using them to avoid the risk of another auto fire, house fire, or leg burn because of the phone’s battery.
However, The Verge claims that only 25% of Galaxy Note 7 owners have actually handed in their phone.
Nam said the agency made the request because “the plan to remove hazards in the markets is insufficient”.

Though the testing does not yet indicate any concrete prospect, Samsung following through on installing the Android 7.0 Nougat on the Galaxy S7 will also bring good tidings to owners of older Samsung devices.
