The Zika virus is spread mainly by mosquitoes.

On Tuesday, Ministry of Public Health announced that approximately 200 Zika cases had been reported in the country since January, making Thailand among the countries with the highest rate of Zika infection in the region.
“With such support, we hope to reduce the spread of the Zika virus as well as to reduce the biggest problem-dengue”, he said, adding that thermal scanners at airports had limited effect as 80 per cent of Zika carriers do not show symptoms. “The ministry is considering producing a Zika educational spot, but it is still waiting to discuss this with technical experts”, he said.
Scientists have so far found no luck in their search for a cure for the infection caused by the virus, nor did they find any luck in their quest to come up with a vaccine to battle it.
The Zika surveillance report has until recently been released on Tuesdays.
