Delhi Police has registered a complaint against AAP leader Ashutosh for his remarks in his blog in defence of sacked AAP minister Sandeep Kumar facing the charge of rape.

“Praveen was as an upper desk clerk in the Accounts and Audit Department but after Sandeep became a minister, he brought him on deputation and appointed him his personal secretary”, the officer said.

According to the application, Kumar disclosed that he has “committed similar acts” with several other girls.

Praveen Kumar, who is Kumar’s PA, was detained from the Delhi Secretariat this morning, police said.

“As of now, we have detained him for questioning from Delhi Secretariat”, said DCP (Outer) Vikramjeet Singh.

The police told the court that co-accused Parveen, who is Mr Kumar’s childhood friend, has been detained and the two men would be brought face-to-face to unearth the “hidden facts”.

Special Judge Poonam Chaudhary remanded Kumar in three-day police custody after he was presented in court on expiry of his one-day police custody. Kumar has been slapped with Section 7 (illegal gratification by a public servant) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988.

Sources said police have also collected call details records from Kumar’s phone as they suspect a racket behind the recording of the videos.

He has also been booked under IPC sections 328 (causing hurt by means of poison), 376 (rape) besides Section 66E (violation of privacy) and section 67A (publishing sexually explicit content) of the Information Technology Act, 2000.

The woman in her complaint alleged that she was sexually harassed by Kumar at his office-cum-residence in Sultanpuri area where she had gone to get her ration card made.

The former minister was arrested on September 3 after a woman approached Sultanpuri police station in north Delhi with a complaint of sexual harassment against the former minister.

She alleged the minister had promised her a job and help in securing a government benefits card.

The NCW has summoned Ashutosh for his controversial blog in which he had defended Kumar over an “objectionable” CD, saying it was a “consensual” act and that he had done no wrong.
